Ancien
élève de l'école nationale de la marine marchande
(Hydro) du Havre, j'ai d'abord navigué au long
cours à bord des navires de la Compagnie Maritime des
Chargeurs Réunis, puis j'ai rejoint
la marine nationale où j'ai fait carrière.
J'ai eu la chance de commander la goélette ETOILE et
le bâtiment hydrographique et océanographique
BEAUTEMPS-BEAUPRE. Je navigue également comme chef de
bord aux Glénans depuis 1979. J'ai quitté
la marine nationale en 2012 et
m'essaie au journalisme maritime tout en navigant à la
voile, mes photos illustrent ouvrages et
articles.
J'ai toujours été
attiré par les lumières de la mer et les
navires en tous genres. Les escales sont aussi
des moments photographiques privilégiés.
Dès le début de ma navigation mon
appareil photo m'a accompagné. Parisien quand
à terre, j'ai découvert que chevaux et
cavaliers ainsi que les formes et couleurs de
la nature pouvaient aisément captiver
l'objectif.

A former student of Le Havre
merchant navy school, I first sailed with the
merchant service and thereafter joined the
French Navy. I had the luck to be captain
of the french navy schooner ETOILE and of the
hydrographic and oceanographic survey ship
BEAUTEMPS-BEAUPRE. I am also , since
1979, a benevolent sailing instructor with the
Glenans sailing school. I retired from the Navy in
2012 and am now a part time maritime
writer about sailing boats.
I have always
been fascinated by the lights and sights of the sea.
From the the very beginning I sailed with my camera.
When ashore, I discovered that horses and riders as well
as nature were also fascinating photographic subjects.
